Making tea for Jesus

I had a few people over in my house, and was making tea…when it dawned on me that I should “Do everything as for the Lord and not for people” I was making tea for Jesus!

I thought of other areas of my life:-

  1. When tidying up a room, I should do it as if Jesus would be staying over
  2. While overlooking an offence, I would do it as a personal favour for Jesus
  3. While seeing a patient (as a doctor), as if Jesus had personally recommended me
  4. While communicating to a “difficult” person as if Jesus was counting on me to handle it skilfully, and with compassion…

the list is endless…

What would you put on your list?

Whatever your work is, do it gladly. Do it as you would do it unto the Lord and not for people. (Colossians 3:23)

  1. Amen Dr. Kalpana. I would DEFINITELY add housework (as an early-retired househusband!) I once heard the great English teacher/preacher David Pawson recount his admiration for a christian domestic, who told him that she cleaned the toilet seats in her place of work, as if the Lord Himself was going to sit on them.

“Now that really IS doing everything as if unto the Lord” he said, with great conviction, and no-one in his audience could have possibly disagreed with him!
